DR. ROBERT STEIN
Robert L. Stein D.O. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Head and Neck Surgery. He is a native of western Pennsylvania and attended Washington and Jefferson College for his undergraduate degree. He completed medical school in Philadelphia, while his internship was done at St. Agnes Burn Center in Philadelphia and his residency was completed at Ohio University/ Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Stein opened up a private practice in Mercer County during the spring of 1995. Over the next several years, he took over several retiring physician practices in the surrounding area. Besides caring for the many patients in the local area, he was also a noted national speaker on advances in cataract surgery for many years. This lead to invitations to speak at over 100 national and international events during his career. His strong desire to teach is still evident today, as he provides rotation services for students, interns, and residents.
Besides Dr Stein’s experience in cataract surgery, which includes implantation of all types of specialty lenses, he enjoys caring for diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and routine examinations. Dr. Stein is also one of the early pioneers in the United States to utilize neurotoxins for medical necessity. His extensive experience with these products produced a strong foundation for the usage of cosmetic Botox and fillers for the past 15 years.
Outside of the medical community, Dr. Stein enjoys riding and showing his registered quarter horses throughout the United States where he is an accomplished national and world champion in the horse industry.
